Si parla tanto della vanità femminile, ma cosa dire di quella maschile? L’ha conosciuta sicuramente molto bene Carly Simon, che all’argomento dedicò nel 1972 la tagliente ed ironica You’re So Vain.

Fu un grande successo: il singolo, incluso nell’album No Secrets, è la sua canzone più nota e si è piazzata al 72° posto in una classifica delle più grandi canzoni di tutti i tempi, stilata da Billboard nel 1994.

A chi era dedicata? Tuttora è un mistero. Cat Stevens? David Bowie, che quest’estate sembrava essersi ritirato dalla musica? Ora spunta anche il nome di Mick Jagger, il grande seduttore del rock ‘n roll che ha avuto anche un flirt con Angelina Jolie…

Ecco il video ufficiale della hit, girato solo nel 2010 a seguito di un concorso lanciato dalla Simon e vinto da Brett Bisogno. La prima del video fu al Tribeca Film Festival nell’aprile dello stesso anno.
